명실상부한 팝가수로 인정 받고 있는 윌영의 5번째 정규앨범 [Echoes]
지금까지 해왔던 음악이 조금은 부드럽고 대중적인 발라드에 집중해 있었다면, 이번 앨범[Echoes]는 그가 가지고 있는 기본적인 색깔을 바탕으로 Trip pop 이라는 다운템포 일렉트로닉 뮤직을 접목시켜 새로운 장르를 추구하며 음악인으로서의 새로운 신세계를 개척하고 있다.
그의 새앨범 [Echoes ] 의 첫번 째 싱글 “Jealousy“과 더불어 “Good things“, “I just want a lover“ 등의 곡등에서는 댄스 플로워를 연상 시키는.. 어디서든지 흥얼거리며 춤 출 수 있을.. 세련되고 멋진 곡들이 돋보여진다.
반대로, “Outsider“, “Silent Valentine“ 는 어쿠스틱한 멜로디에서 묻어나는 그의 트랜드 마크인 차갑지만 중독적인 보컬을 돋보이게 하는 곡들이다.
2011년은 그를 음악인의 삶으로 살 수 있게 해준 “Pop Idol“ 오디션을 참가한지 10년 째 되는 해이다.
